The jury, composed of Chiara Agnello – creator of ArteVisione and curator, Rebecca de Pas – programmer at Visions du Réel Festival international de cinéma Nyon, and Dino Vannini – deputy director and head of communication and marketing at Sky Arte, awards the AV2019 prize – which includes a production grant and distribution on Sky Arte – to The Cool Couple with The Cute and the Useful for being “an interesting proposal on the commodification of the living as a paradigm of contemporary society.”
Given the high quality of the projects presented and thanks to the support of Sky Arte, an acquisition prize is also awarded to From Below Upwards by Matteo Primiterra “for the careful and at the same time poetic exploration of the relationship between identity and space of a deeply symbolic place in the Abruzzo Apennines.” The film will be distributed on the Sky Arte channel.
The ArteVisione LAB workshop saw the participation of Valentina Bonizzi, Nuno Escudeiro, Miriam Gili, Corinne Mazzoli, Matteo Primiterra, The Cool Couple, Natália Trejbalová, Fabrizio Vatieri, selected through an open call. The artists had the opportunity to engage with Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca – visiting professors, representatives of the Brazilian Pavilion, 58th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia – and with experts from the artistic and cinematic fields such as Marco Alessi – producer and founder of Dugong Films, Rome; Martina Angelotti – artistic director Careof, Milan; Marta Bianchi – project manager Careof, Milan; Eva Sangiorgi – artistic director Viennale, Vienna.
ArteVisione, in collaboration with Sky Arte, promotes contemporary artistic research through a professionalizing workshop and the production of a film work.
