Me&You&Everyone We Know

On #November25, for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Me&You&Everyone We Know is organizing an evening of illustrations, conversations, and music at Careof starting from 6:30 PM.

Me&You&Everyone We Know is an international project aimed at preventing harassment and sexual violence in high schools. Over two years of work and intense dialogue with adolescents and adults, a set of cards in 4 languages was produced— a tool to promote educational conversations about violence in intimate relationships among adolescents and between adults and adolescents. The project involved about 2000 students and 200 teachers and educators across 3 European countries (Italy, Romania, and Sweden).

The originals of the cards illustrated by Arianna Vairo will be on display. She describes her contribution as follows: “I wanted to create images open to different interpretations, ambiguous, easy to read, and at the same time capable of sustaining the duration of an intense reading, where everyone can identify themselves.”

The deck of cards was created in collaboration with Luca Lattuga, graphic designer, typographer, and tireless collector of movable type, and Anonima Impressori, a typography and graphic design studio based in Bologna.

On the website http://meandyouandeveryone.com, the cards can be downloaded for free along with all possible uses.

Me&You&Everyone We Know is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014/2020 of the European Commission and is one of the transnational actions developed to combat harassment and sexual violence against women and girls.

The project includes Comunità Nuova and Codici Ricerca e Intervento for Italy, Tineri pentru Tineri for Romania, FRYSHUSET for Sweden, and University of Middlesex for the United Kingdom.
