Nicolas Le Moigne • Ecal
On the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2008, Careof presents the project by Nicolas Le Moigne developed within the Industrial Design master’s program at the prestigious Swiss school ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne.
The project was born in close collaboration with Eternit, a leading company since 1903 in the production of architectural elements and outdoor furnishings. The company’s name also gives rise to the material "éternit," which is mainly composed of cement and various fibers.
Nicolas Le Moigne’s work — characterized by elegant sobriety — is inspired by extensive research on the material and the study of different modeling possibilities and techniques. Numerous tests allowed the development of prototypes for outdoor elements, many of which have entered production and are commercialized by Eternit, such as stools, tables, containers, and plant pots.
