FUORIREGISTRO

Participating: Maria Rosa Sossai, Paola Gaggiotti, Donata Lazzarini, Chiara Pergola

15.06.2022, h 19.00

The containment measures for Covid-19 must be followed.

Careof hosts the presentation of the second issue of "fuoriregistro: quaderno di pedagogia e arte contemporanea”. On Wednesday 15 June 2022 h 19.00, we will talk about the common good with the curator Maria Rosa Sossai, the artists Paola Gaggiotti, Donata Lazzarini, Chiara Pergola, from the editorial staff of the magazine.

“Certainly, the common good is not a final condition. Instead, it is the result of a movement, an ongoing will that disappears when it is not nurtured anymore”: this is what the students of Accademia di Brera and NABA wrote at the end of their article in the notebook. For the editorial staff of "fuoriregistro”, a common good mainly implies “living the language of the other person” and thinking on the interactions with other communities during the pandemic. In broader terms, the common good is the field for experimenting and meeting different ways of thinking and creative energies; but also conversing with the institutions, especially when they seem to ignore the community.

In the end, common good is the intention that stimulates or should stimulate cultural work: experimenting different forms of subjectivity and developing practices of pedagogical and creative thought with gender differences, the fight against unequal balance in power and the patriarchal language.

The theme chosen by the editorial staff of “fuoriregistro” came out from the discussions about the participatory project “La Stanza delle Meraviglie”, which represents the central section of the magazine. It was also realized with the Castelbuono community and curated by Maria Rosa Sossai in 2020.

Participating in this issue: Pietro Gaglianò, Mauro Folci, Simona Bertacco, John Cascone, Claire Fontaine, Silvia Maglioni & Graeme Thomson, Chiara Pergola, the students of Accademie di Brera and NABA, together with the teachers Donata Lazzarini and Sara Ricciardi.
Laura Barreca, Maria Rosa Sossai, Giuseppina Pisciotta Tosini, Angelo Cucco worked on the dossier “La Stanza delle Meraviglie”.

The second issue of “fuoriregistro” is combined with the project Perla Gina by Gina X, a group of female artists and art workers.

To support “fuoriregistro”, the Ginas made 20 one-of-a-kind necklaces. They were created from some of their own jewels to design new ones, each with some pearls from the others. With a passionate work of divisions, inscriptions, shipping, and assembly, the Perla Gina necklaces tell the story of the desire to unite despite the differences.

Participating in the creation of these necklaces: Anusc Castiglioni, Annalisa Cattani, Paola Gaggiotti, Stefania Galegati, Chiara Francesca Longo, Valeria Manzi, Concetta Modica, Francesca Pasini, Chiara Pergola, Ginevra Quadrio Curzio, Susanna Ravelli, Giulia Restifo, Gabi Scardi, Daniela Simoncini, Uliana Zanetti. The jewels are worn and photographed on the pages of fuoriregistro by Andro-Gino Marco Passaro.

FUORIREGISTRO

“fuoriregistro” is a trusteeship artistic choral work where the protagonists are those who live in institutions, schools, academies, hospitals, prisons, too often without a voice nor representation. The publication, a bilingual Italian-English, investigates the relationship between education and contemporary art. Studio Boîte – a decade-long activity of research, production and promotion of contemporary art and artists in the editorial field – and Federica Cimatti, contemporary art editor, are partners in the project.
