ore 19.30 conversation between Alessandro Caliandro, Guildor, Zoe Romano

What is surveillance capitalism? What strategies can citizens adopt to make informed choices about the sharing of their personal data? What grassroots social innovation processes exist to use data in meaningful ways?

In the context of the exhibition “Finestre di dialogo”, at 7:00 PM Guildor presents the performance “I biscotti della fortuna che ordino con Glovo sono stranamente accurati”, preceding a conversation between visual arts and sociology on the processes of extraction and exploitation of digital data. The discussion features contributions from the artist, Alessandro Caliandro, Associate Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Università di Pavia, and Zoe Romano, independent researcher and consultant.

“Finestre di dialogo” by Guildor is part of V-Data, a multi-year research project developed by a team of researcher_ from Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano, with the support of Fondazione Cariplo, aimed at investigating the awareness and opinions of people living in Italy regarding the processes of extraction and exploitation of digital data, characteristic of surveillance capitalism.
