Giulio Squillaccioti with What Has Left Since We Left is the winner of the fifth edition of ArteVisione. The film explores the fragile and fragmented definition of Europe in a hypothetical future far removed from the premises of the Maastricht Treaty that saw its birth.

The selection is the result of a careful evaluation by the jury composed of Chiara Agnello (Curator Careof), Paolo Moretti (General Delegate of the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs), and Roberto Pisoni (Director Sky Arte), who discussed the proposals of the finalist artists of ArteVisioneLAB.

"I recommended Giulio Squillacciotti for his ability to imagine a film about the possible end of the European community project in a lucid, timely manner with a well-structured approach. What Has Left Since We Left creates a short circuit between present, past, and possible future, a different, suspended time and space, where it skillfully projects some urgencies of contemporary History." (Chiara Agnello)

The workshop saw the participation of the selected artists Fare Ala, Dario Bitto, Elisa Caldana, Nina Fiocco, Giulio Squillacciotti, Jacopo Miliani, Mali Weil, accompanied by visiting professor Jordi Colomer and guests: Andrea Lissoni, Eva Sangiorgi, and Marco Alessi.

ArteVisione, in collaboration with Sky Arte, promotes contemporary artistic research through a professionalizing workshop and the production of a film work.
