Diego Marcon
A perpetual movement of five faces succumbing to sleep and returning to alertness, in an exhausting alternation of wakefulness and drowsiness, consciousness and sleep. The hand-painted video animation “Head falling” by Diego Marcon, created in 2015, consists of a close-up of a head poised between sleep and wakefulness—or perhaps from wakefulness to sleep. The video is projected as a ten-second loop in which the first and last frames coincide.
The work was produced within the context of the project Performing Archive, a residency at Careof during which Diego Marcon embarked on an erratic journey through Careof’s video archive. The exhibition FRANTI, FUORI! curated by Martina Angelotti was the conclusion of this experience.
The work was exhibited at Museion (Bolzano), 2017 and at GAMeC (Bergamo), 2015.
