ESCA is a French cultural association that, since 1985, has organized over 70 exhibitions in its space, featuring both French and international artists. Through national collaborations (with other art centers and FRAC) and international exchanges—particularly with Italy, Morocco, and Spain—it has presented works by artists from these countries and promoted French artists abroad, especially those from the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

Alongside its exhibitions, ESCA has also organized artist residencies, public-space interventions in several regional cities, and educational initiatives in cooperation with local schools. Its curatorial activity has been supported by the publication of numerous exhibition catalogues and, since 1995, by the magazine Papier Libres (16 issues published), featuring essays from various contributors as well as reviews and reports on exhibitions and events from the Southeast of France.
