Da lontano era un’isola. Giovani curatori guardano l’arte

CURATED BY
Master in Organizzazione e Comunicazione delle Arti Visive dell' Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera
From 07.09.2004 to 23.09.2004

On Tuesday, September 7, the exhibition Da lontano era unisola opens, promoted by the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. The event marks the beginning of the professional journey of the group Con-cura, composed of the eighteen curators of the eighth edition of the University Master’s program “Organizzazione e Comunicazione delle Arti Visive” at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

Artists on show: Anna Biagetti, Stefano Bruna, Davide Caforio, Claudia Canavesi e Nadia Galbiati, Simone Cesarini, Stefania Ferraro, Claudio Gobbi, Manuel Ehrenfeld, Fabio Palmieri, Stefano Peressini, Pablo Perra, Stefano Romano, Marco Maria Giuseppe Scifo, Federico Solmi, Luca Trevisani.

Da lontano era unisola refers to the book of the same name by Bruno Munari, which, starting from a simple and banal element, demonstrates how a change in perspective can alter our perception of reality. If a stone, seen from a different point of view, can “become” a forest, a mountain, or an island, then the city—understood as an open form—can lend itself to a plurality of ever-evolving visions.

The group Con-cura presents a selection of young artists active in the Milanese scene, diverse in poetics, languages, and expressive means. They address the theme of the city by applying their own point of view and offering new interpretations and personal readings.
