Daniele Pario Perra • Politics Poiesis

Politics Poiesis is an exhibition/project created by Daniele Pario Perra with the direct and indirect contribution of other people. The starting point of the research is the common perception of our political society as an un_structured system of realities and contradictions, whose natural consequence is the sense of uncertainty of destiny (without strategy) typical of fiction.

The control knobs for regulating social emotions, patriotism, collective joy or horror are adjusted by multiple hands as needed—and sometimes even by several actors simultaneously. These hands, belonging to politics, the market, and the media, have accustomed us to a climate of constant cultural uncertainty, where their creative gesture is to play with reality and its exact opposite in order to justify disempowering actions. Politics Poiesis is an exhibition that uses the media of contemporary art to create a tool for expanded communication, to simplify languages, and to reflect on common, decipherable themes in order to explore opinions that go against collective cliques. At the same time, it is the result of multiple strands of research—from the aesthetic to the technical to the sociological—as a natural consequence of a set of codes and messages that seeks to be arranged in order.

Politics Poiesis is also a 275-page full-color book published by CONTRACONCEPT, introduced by an essay by Hanna Keller and featuring numerous free-form textual contributions on the theme.
