Il collettivo Apparatus 22, artisti vincitori della residenza _Diogene_BivaccourbanoR 2015, presentano una selezione di lavori in conversazione con alcuni membri del gruppo Diogene di Torino.
La serata introduce la pratica artistica del collettivo da diversi punti di vista: i temi d’interesse per la ricerca e la produzione, i processi di articolazione delle idee, i diversi contesti in cui gli artisti hanno vissuto e lavorato, la messa in discussione come strategia per il pensiero critico, ecc.
Apparatus 22 è un collettivo artistico multidisciplinare fondato nel gennaio 2011 a Bucarest, Romania, dagli attuali membri Erika Olea, Maria Farcas, Dragos Olea e da Ioana Nemes (1979, Bucarest - 2011, New York). Apparatus 22 indaga le complesse relazioni tra moda ed economia, politica, studi di genere, movimenti sociali e religione al fine di comprendere la società contemporanea. La loro pratica artistica, che attraversa vari linguaggi – installazione, performance, scrittura... –, dà forma a lavori nei quali la realtà si mescola con la finzione e la narrazione ed è sostenuta da un approccio critico che attinge conoscenza ed esperienza dal mondo del design, della sociologia, della letteratura, dell’economia.

The work of the collective was exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia 2013, Romanian Official Representation II – “Reflection Centre for Suspended Histories. An Attempt” exhibition.
Apparatus 22 currently presents works in two solo shows: “SEVERAL LAWS. THE ELASTIC TEST” curated by Eleonora Farina at GALLLERIAPIU in Bologna, Italy and “An archive of longings (chapter 1)” curated by Liviana Dan at Galeria Calina, Timisoara, Romania.
DIOGENE
Progetto Diogene is an artist collective founded in 2007 with the objective to reflect upon artistic systems and the roles of artists within contemporary arts practice. Its name taken and inspired from Diogenes of Sinope, the collective looks at defining a critical approach to making, whilst maintaining a balance between autonomy of thought within the larger ecosystem of everyday realities. Operating out of a tram as the main site for the coming together of research and practice, the main projects of the group are Bivaccourbano, an international residency for artists; DiogeneLab, a pedagogical laboratory with local schools in Turin; Collecting people, a series of debates and conferences and Solid Void, a school for artists. These projects develop and execute new strategies for innovation and alternative methodologies based on the sharing of experiences
