Dal 24.09.2018 al 28.09.2018
From September 24 to 28, 2018, Careof hosted the Fine Arts group from Monash University in Melbourne – led by A Constructed World – offering a workshop focused on exploring its video archive, which holds over 8,000 titles, and introducing students to some of the most vibrant players on the Milanese contemporary art scene.
What is the meaning of an archive today? What are the possible forms of display and interaction for contemporary artists?
Starting from an in-depth look at the history of the moving image, we guided the students through a process of discovering our archive, highlighting its founding principles and the challenges of preserving and expanding it. The proposed challenge was to ask them to create a work in three days that engaged in a dialogue with our video archive.
The in-depth journey also led some students to explore materials housed in Careof’s book archive.
The workshop concluded with an exhibition and a critical session with the artist Danilo Correale.
