Brigantia
27.11.2024 - 13.12.2024
tuesday - saturday 15.00 - 19.00
opening: 26.11.2024, h 19.00
Careof hosts “Brigantia”, an exhibition curated by Annika Pettini, created to expand a research path initiated in 2020 and culminated in the eponymous volume published by Boîte Editions.
The exhibition offers a reflection on the editorial and curatorial journey undertaken by the author together with a group of artists: Chiara Bettazzi, Lucia Cantò, Stefano Comensoli Nicolò Colciago, Ilaria Cuccagna, Giulia Currà, Oliviero Fiorenzi, Giulia Fumagalli, Rada Kozelj, Silvia Mangosio, Reverie, Fabio Roncato, Virginia Russolo, involved in a poetic and imaginative dialogue blending poetry and images taken from their respective personal archives.
The name “Brigantia”, not by chance, takes inspiration from the Celtic goddess Brigid, bearer of the flame of life and poetry, and here transforms into a varied archipelago. Landscapes shaped by the different artistic practices.
This is a process of emergence that Annika Pettini draws inspiration from, bringing to the exhibition additional bodies of work from the artists’ production: multiple points of view united by a shared sensibility.
Careof offers a home to the final stage of this editorial project, conceived as a newsletter and expanded in 2023 into book form, respecting its tone and spaces. In this way, new landscapes of meaning and visual panoramas are traced, identifying new coordinates, in an ongoing dialogue with the author.
