Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM, Careof hosts the presentation of the new issue of ITEM, a bookzine on art and psychoanalysis.

“What is meant by the artificial dimension, and what are its boundaries in defining the individual and cultural and artistic practice? Can the digital be considered the product of a social process of reality construction? How is the infosphere transformed, how is technological knowledge transmitted, and what are its political implications?”

The second issue of ITEM takes inspiration from the theme of the virtual, suggested by the work of artist Driant Zeneli during his time with Waiting Room Residency 2022, a research residency produced by Tiring House focused on the relationship between art and psychoanalysis.

The presentation, with the participation of Giancarlo Grossi, Cristina Mattiucci, Martina Melilli, Claudia Vattiato, and moderated by curators Giusi Campisi and Sara d'Alessandro Manozzo, is accompanied by the screening of the film “Diteggiatura” by Riccardo Giacconi (2021), the subject of a conversation with Martina Melilli featured in ITEM.

The event is part of the “Vapore d'Inverno” program at Fabbrica del Vapore.
