ArteVisione 2023
With the 2023 edition, Careof selected through an open call 5 Italian artists who participated from November 27 to December 2, 2023, in an intensive workshop structured around lectures, collective seminars, and one-to-one meetings with internationally renowned artists and audiovisual professionists.
The ArteVisione 2023 finalists are Claudio Beorchia, Eleonora Luccarini, Beatrice Marchi, Federico Pozuelo, and Martin Errichiello.
During the workshop, the artists had the opportunity to discuss, develop, and revise their projects with international artist Shireen Seno, filmmaker and founder of Los Otros (Manila), visiting professor of ArteVisione 2023, and with Andrea Bellini, director of Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève and artistic director of the Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement in Geneva; Andreas Bertman, producer and curator at Filmform, Stockholm; Luca Mosso, director of Filmmaker Festival, Milan; Eva Sangiorgi, director of Viennale, Vienna; Maria Paola Zedda, artistic director of ZEIT, Cagliari / Milan.
The project’s partner network (ArteVisione Promotion Network) will enable the artists to present their research to a number of international institutions, including Argos (Brussels), FIDMarseille (Marseille), SODA (Manchester), Circuit (Wellington).

SHIREEN SENO - BIOGRAPHY
Shireen Seno is a Filipino visual artist and filmmaker whose work explores memory, history, and image-making, often in relation to the concept of home. She studied architecture and film at the University of Toronto and taught in Japan before moving to Manila, where she began working as a still photographer for directors Lav Diaz and John Torres. Her first two feature films, "Big Boy" (2011) and "Nervous Translation" (2018), were presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where “Nervous Translation” won the NETPAC award for best Asian film.
In her most recent film, "To Pick a Flower" (2021), Seno examines the colonial system of American logging trade in the Philippines and how it influences the world of archives and photographic conventions. Throughout her work, Seno constructs complex, intimate, and metaphysical worlds—both domestic and ecological—to help us reflect not only on how and by whom images are created but especially on how to think through images in the twenty-first century.
