With the 2024 edition, Careof selected through an open call 5 Italian artist who took part, from November 18 to 23, 2024, in an intensive workshop structured around lectures, collective seminars, and one-on-one meetings with internationally renowned artist and audiovisual professionists.
The Artevisione 2024 finalists are: Simona Andrioletti, Gaia De Megni, Beatrice Favaretto, Bendetta Fioravanti, and Cristina Lavosi.
During Artevisione, they had the opportunity to explore and develop the individual projects they submitted, sharing their research and receiving valuable advice and insights from Saodat Ismailova, visiting professor of this edition, currently exhibiting at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca with “A seed under our tongue”, Alessia Tripaldi, sociologist, writer, and co-founder of Sineglossa, Eva Sangiorgi, director of VIENNALE, Camilla Romeo, producer and lecturer at NABA, Matteo Balduzzi, director of MUFOCO – Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea, and Luca Mosso, director of Filmmaker Festival, Milan.
In parallel with the workshop, Artevisione2024 included a public event: the screening night in the presence of Saodat Ismailova on Tuesday, November 19 at 9:00 PM, featuring the film “Bibi Seshanbe” (2022) at Cinema Arlecchino in Milan, in collaboration with Filmmaker Festival. The screening was followed by a Question&Answer with the artist and Roberta Tenconi, curator at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca.

Saodat Ismailova — biografia
Saodat Ismailova is an Uzbek artist and filmmaker who grew up in the post-Soviet era. Interweaving rituals, myths, and dreams into the fabric of everyday life, her films explore the complex and layered culture of Central Asia. Often based on orally transmitted stories centered around female protagonists, and investigating knowledge systems repressed by globalized modernity, these works expand consciousness by moving between visible and invisible worlds.
A graduate of the State Art Institute of Tashkent and Le Fresnoy, National Studio of Contemporary Arts in France, she has developed her artistic path between Paris and Tashkent. In 2021, she founded the research collective Davra to foster the development of the Central Asian art scene. In 2022, she participated in the 59th Venice Biennale and in documenta 15. That same year, she received The Eye Art & Film Prize in Amsterdam.
Her works are part of the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, TBA21, the Museum of Arts in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and other major international institutions.
